    Toshimune Tanaka opens a textile export business named Kuramo Shoten in Osaka.
  • 1934
    Kuramo Textiles, Inc. is founded in Echizen City (formerly known as Takafu City) to manufacture silk and rayon for export.
  • 1944
    The company shares technology with what is now Mitsubishi Cable Industries, Ltd. and founds Hokuriku Electric Cable Co., Ltd. to launch production of enameled copper wire.
  • 1950
    The three companies, Kuramo Textiles, Inc., Hokuriku Electric Cable Co., Ltd., and Kuramo, Inc., merge to form Kuramo Shokusan Co., Ltd.
  • 1952
    Production of plastic electric wires begins.
  • 1954
    The company closes its weaving department and turns to exclusively manufacturing electric wires.
  • 1955
    Company wins Director’s Award from the Osaka Bureau of International Trade and Industry (for outstanding implementation of industrial standardization at the company’s factory).
  • 1958
    Corporate name changed to Kuramo Electric Co., Ltd.
